Cookie Policy

This section describes the management methods of the Site with reference to the processing of data operated by means of cookies, their origins, and the reasons for such use.

The Data Controller is Metadonors S.r.l.

Unless otherwise specified, the following treatments are based on consent, which can be revoked at no cost at any time.

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that the sites you visit send to your terminal (usually the browser), where they are stored before being re-transmitted to the same sites on your next visit. While browsing a site, you can also receive cookies from different sites or web servers on your terminal (so-called "third-party" cookies); this happens because on the website visited there may be elements such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages of other domains that reside on servers other than the one on which the requested page is located. In other words, they are those cookies that are set by a website other than the one you are currently visiting.

What are they for?

Cookies are used to perform computer authentication, session monitoring and storage of specific information regarding users accessing the server and are usually present in each user's browser in very large numbers. They can remain on the user's terminal for long periods or for short periods. The session cookie normally expires at the end of the browsing session, i.e. when the browser is closed.

Cookies, however, can also be used to track user navigation on the net and create profiles on their tastes, habits, choices, etc. With these cookies, advertising messages can be transmitted to the user's terminal in line with the preferences already expressed by the same user when browsing online.

To know more:

In particular, following the scheme suggested by the Guarantor Authority for the Protection of Personal Data, cookies can be classified within the macro categories indicated below:

Technical cookies

Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service. They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or manager of the website.

They can be divided into:
– navigation or session cookies, which guarantee normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas);
– analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site;
– functionality cookies, which allow the user browsing according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service rendered to the same.

Profiling cookies

Profiling cookies are designed to create user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while surfing the net. Due to the particular invasiveness that such devices can have in the private sphere of users, European and Italian legislation provides that the user must be adequately informed about their use and thus express their valid consent.

Our regulations stipulate that the storage of information in the terminal equipment of a contracting party or a user or access to information already stored is only permitted on condition that the contracting party or user has given his consent after being informed.

Analysis services cookies

These are cookies used to statistically analyze accesses / visits to the site (so-called "analytics" cookies) but they do not always exclusively pursue statistical purposes or collect information in aggregate form, and are often provided by third parties who collect users' IP addresses and can access it in disaggregated form (in these cases it is possible to limit the treatment by resorting to anonymisation techniques).

Normally they are not exempt from consent, however, when they are used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site, they are assimilated to technical cookies.

Cookies used by this site and their deactivation

The Data Controller informs you that the Site uses cookies to transmit information of a personal nature.

So-called persistent profiling cookies, from third parties, i.e. systems for tracking users that can analyze your preferences in order to send you personalized advertising.

To know more:

Google Analytics is used to measure the site's performance (most/least visited pages, most/least clicked elements, number of visitors, most searched words, etc.).

Google Analytics is a Google analysis tool that helps website and app owners understand how visitors interact with the content they own. A set of cookies may be used to collect information and generate website usage statistics. These markers are used to store visitor information, such as the moment in time the site was visited, the previous visit, and through which domain they reached the site. This information, generated through mere access to the site, is then sent to server machines located in the United States of America and stored there by Google.

In addition to cookies, a pixel tag is also used. The pixel tag is a type of technology used on a website or in the body of an email to track website activity or the opening/accessing of emails and is often used in conjunction with cookies (http://www.google.it/intl/it/policies/privacy/key-terms/).

The Privacy Policy of Google, on the other hand, generally regulates the processing of personal data of users who use Google products and services.

Finally, we inform the user that the list of cookies used by GOOGLE ANALYTICS can be found at the following address: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/cookie-usage
